Ambassador Ekramy El Zaghat Condemns Israeli War Crimes Against Palestinians, Urges International Action

Ambassador Ekramy El Zaghat, President of the World Fund for Development and Planning and Special Adviser to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, condemned the brutal and savage attacks carried out by the Israeli occupying entity against the Palestinian people. He pointed out that the intensification of these attacks results in the martyrdom of thousands of innocent civilians, both killed and injured, describing these assaults as “complete war crimes.”

El Zaghat stated that these crimes and brutal assaults add to a long history of Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, who are demanding their legitimate rights. He emphasized that the occupying forces are disregarding international laws and humanitarian principles while the international community remains silent.

He further explained that the Israeli entity is thirsting for more bloodshed, targeting children, women, the elderly, and innocent civilians, as well as hospitals and places of worship, all in full view of the world. This, he said, confirms that we are witnessing war crimes and genocide.

El Zaghat stressed that the international community must take a firm and urgent stance to implement the decisions and rulings issued by the International Court of Justice against the Israeli entity and its leaders, including the immediate cessation of the terrorist aggression on Rafah, the opening of the Rafah crossing for the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the stopping of the Zionist killing machine, which the world has remained silent about.

He continued, stating that the ongoing events confirm that international laws are merely empty slogans that the West clings to without clear steps to enforce these laws against the occupying state. These laws are applied based on personal interests and whims, proving that the United States is the primary sponsor of terrorism.

El Zaghat also praised the recognition of Palestine by many countries, noting that the brutal attacks on the Palestinian people are aimed at achieving a false victory that the Israeli entity seeks to present to the world. However, the global solidarity shown, both officially and at the grassroots level, affirms that victory lies with the people of the land who face tanks and planes with makeshift tools.
